Club Membership
Club membership runs from 1 April to 31 March every year. Club membership entitles you to (amongst other things)
💨 free air-fills on Wednesday nights at the Clubhouse
⚙️ free gear rental - for the first two weeks - and excellent, affordable rental rates thereafter
🐟 weekly (and often multiple times each week) Club dives arranged via the members-only WhatsApp group.
🗓 talks and information evenings with fascinating speakers on wide range of ocean-related topics, scuba, conservation, marine ecology and lots more
📸 our quarterly Underwater Photo Competition (R500 Dive Team voucher for the winner in each category)

How do I Join?

🐟 Pay the appropriate membership subscription amount per the table above.

You can make payment via: SnapScan. Alternatively, card facilities are available at the clubhouse.

🐟 Once your form and payment are received, the real fun begins 🐙. Our Constitution requires some checks and balances on new membership, so allow us a bit of breathing space on that. In the meantime, make a date to pop into the Clubhouse in Wynberg any Wednesday evening from 6.30pm and introduce yourself to any and all of the committee members. We'd love to meet you and you are welcome to dive with us as a guest while the admin work goes on behind the scenes. Once the checks are done, you'll get a Welcome email (to let you know how the Club operates) and the links to our Members-only dive planning group and social group on WhatsApp. Expect a warm welcome... and plan to join us underwater ASAP!
Membership Benefits
Membership Categories
Ordinary Member: An individual member with full club privileges.
Couple Member: An Ordinary Member and their spouse or partner, both with full membership benefits.
Family Member: An Ordinary Member, their spouse or domestic partner, and their children under 18 years of age.
Dual Club Member: An Ordinary Member who is also a paid-up member in good standing with a recognised diving club, subject to committee approval.
Student Member: An Ordinary Member who is studying full time at an approved institution.
Temporary Member: A short-term member visiting Cape Town, residing more than 80 km from Wetton Bridge, Wynberg, for a maximum period of one month.
Country Member: An Ordinary Member who resides more than 80 km from Wetton Bridge, Wynberg.
Couple Country Member: A Country Member and their spouse or partner, both residing more than 80 km from Wetton Bridge, Wynberg.
Social Member: A former diver invited at the discretion of the committee, with no voting rights.
Freediving Member: A member who participates in freediving activities only and has no voting rights.
